Robyn BEATTIE

Robyn was born to Bohemian parents. When she was five years old the family moved to Sonoma County, where Robyn and her four siblings enjoyed a country upbringing in the heart of the redwoods near Healdsburg. Her father was a full-time artist, and she has always been surrounded by art and artists. She grew up without television, so being creative was second nature.

She has been a photographer since a teenager, and started showing her work in 2009. She has shown extensively in Sonoma County at the Quicksilver Mine Co Gallery,  the Graton Gallery, Petaluma Art Center, Sebastopol Center for the Arts, Occidental Center for the Arts, and others.

In 2014 she began sculpting in clay. “I have to admit that working with clay is addictive”, she states. “The process of creating in clay, from start to finish, is much slower than the immediacy of photography, yet I find them both very satisfying.”

At heart a naturalist, Robyn’s works in both fields reflect her passion for organic shapes and textures.
