The artist was born in Toki in Mino Prefecture, a long-established pottery center known for Oribe and Ki Seto (Yellow Seto) ware. He also has a kiln in Karatsu in Kyushu where porcelain is often used for ceramics. He has exhibited at the National Traditional Crafts Exhibition
