Sold conservation matted to 21.5 x 27 inch size
This stunning oversized print is one of a few the artist did depicting scenes in the United States. It has also been used on the cover of the catalog of all the artist’s woodblock prints.
A variation of Yoshida’s famous image of Mount Rainier. This appears to be more of a spring rendering. Soft greens along the shore of the lake, and softer blues in the water. Other printings show deep blues in the lake, a sandy shore and bright red flowers, with stronger contrasts throughout. I prefer the softness of this coloring.
