Description

One of only a few woodblock prints the artist made of scenes in Paris. I love the cafe customers looking across the street to the outdoor book vendors by the river across from Notre Dame. Note the woman reaching up for a volume on the top shelf. This is a particularly creative design–note the different textural surfaces on the people in the foreground and those further away. I think the single red scarf is a masterful touch.
