Description

Probably the very best of Hasui’s nighttime scenes, this masterpiece is portrayed as the cover of Kendall Brown’s “Kawase Hasui – The Complete Works” published by Hotei. The print is from the series Twenty Views of Tokyo, and shows the neighborhood where the artist lived. I love the juxtposition of the large round yellow moon and the small rectangular yellow window in the darkened farmhouse.
