Description

“Foul bite, happy accident” and “Expect (the) Unexpected” are common phrases frequently used by printmakers. This print was commissioned by the Oregon State University Foundation to commemorate Hiratsuka’s retirement.

Image: top right is Oregon State’s Memorial Union (OSU landmark). Top left is Hiratsuka’s step-by-step four-color printing process. Cap and ink are orange which is OSU’s color. Ink can has a beaver face which is OSU’s mascot animal. The small press on the bottom right has a plate printed “1992 -2021” which are his teaching years at OSU!
