Kent Tools Decal Technique:

When the clay is still wet, leaves or flowers are pressed onto the clay. The whole area is painted with liquid wax and the leaves or flowers are removed. Then the area is painted with liquid-colored clay slip (usually purple for flowers and yellow or green ) which will stick only where the leaves are. The pieces are then fired with a semitransparent celadon glaze. Because the flowers and leaves have a bit of texture, the colored slip often settles a bit. Leaving some depth to the finished images making them look real. No, they are not decals!!!
