NORIKANE Hirota

Born: 1949, in Hiroshima Prefecture
Medium: Etching, Aquatint and Mezzotint

A graduate of Sokei Academy of Fine Art and Design in Tokyo, Mr. Norikane has explored a variety of themes in his long printmaking career. Originally he only made images of blow fish lanterns. Newer themes range from Mt. Fuji to other landscapes and a series of beguiling cats.
The medium he uses allows great detail and he is able to show very fine line in these small prints. Mr. Norikana’s work has great appeal and has been displayed in exhibitions throughout Japan and in the West.
