Coming full circle can be a fulfilling and creative process.
From constantly drawing and sketching as a child, to completing a fine arts degree at the University of California Berkeley. There has always been a creative thread that wove through my life – from learning to bake bread, make a tasty meal to share with friends, learning how to plant a garden and see the vegetables grow and nourish my family, to learning how to build a home and then building many homes for others.
Going back to school to become an architect and completing a fulfilling career in that profession. And now, returning to fine arts.
A recent trip to Japan has rekindled a love for wood block printing, etching, lithography and experimenting with new technologies that can still find inspiration in the original print making practice.
Now it may be called: vibrance, saturation, line, negative, sharpen, contrast, burn, dodge…but the form and content are still directed toward the fundamental need to create evocative images.
I look forward to sharing these images with you.
